Job Purpose/Role

The Board function Business Transformation operates as an internal consultancy unit and thus controls and bundles the international project portfolio for implementation of strategic Allianz target platforms for Core Insurance (policy administration based on the platforms ABS, OPUS), Digital Interaction (web/portal platform based on oneWeb) and Analytics (Business Intelligence based on SAS) and Central Functions (Accounting, Controlling, Procurement and HR based on SAP, SAS and ACTS). Business Transformation serves as an interface for the organizational units of Allianz to jointly implement the strategic projects. The function strives to create synergies for Allianz Group by harmonizing platform standards and IT landscape.

The department “Business Architecture and Design” is responsible for further functional integration of all application platforms based on customer and business needs. This is executed by safeguard consistency of BT solutions from business model, product, process and operational perspective.

One important factor here is the harmonization and re-usability of solutions in all BT projects. This goes along with providing knowledge and experts for architecture and functional design for all ABS domains as well as performing quality measures and quality gates for all ABS projects.

The Functional Designers in this department are responsible for business solution designs within dedicated core domains (e.g. claims, policy, etc.) to ensure that business requirements can be reached. They develop solutions based on functional standards given by strategic platforms for stable, economic, productivity-increasing, scalable and innovative functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement digitalization requirements in Allianz target platforms (Core Insurance, Web-Based Access, Central Functions)
  • Ensure harmonized implementation with customization where necessary
  • Develop and share platform know-how and skills
  • Co-operate and network in a truly international environment
  • Execute and document functional design according to design guidelines of business requirements
  • Perform and document functional configuration
  • Deploy environments for sandbox and development
  • Update on release, migration and deployment plan
  • Update on acceptance criteria

Further responsibilities 

  • Support change, problem and incident management with defect analysis
  • Support test preparation and system integration tests after software implementation

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

Qualification, Certification and Experiences 

  • An academic (bachelor) degree with outstanding results in business administration, economics, mathematics, physics or IT
  • 1 to 2 years of experience at an insurance company or in the insurance branch of a consultancy
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Good German language skills

Skills and competencies 

  • Strong analytical, communication and influence skills including IT affinity
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, intercultural, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to think in processes and to ensure deliverables are connected with operating plans
  • Strong ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
