Job Purpose/Role

Group IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture defines the Group IT strategy, the enterprise architecture, performs strategic and functional reporting and controlling of Allianz IT spend and cost using a balanced score card, defines Group IT standards and run the IT Council.

The department Group IT Reporting & Controlling is responsible for the strategic and functional IT controlling of Allianz Group IT budget. Strategic controlling focuses on the implementation of the IT target landscape and functional controlling assesses, next to all relevant IT cost, the efficiency and effectiveness of IT function and the complexity of OEs IT landscape. IT Reporting & Controlling coordinates closely with other Group COO functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Head of IT Reporting and Controlling and Group CIO in analysis and evaluation of Allianz global IT spend and cost and global IT effectiveness and efficiency
  • Report on global IT spend and cost across Allianz Group and analyze the drivers for actual vs plan deviations
  • Provide support for Operations and IT strategy sessions with IT spend and cost reports as well as balanced score cards and achievement of AZ group IT´s strategic goals
  • Develop higher-frequency reporting of Allianz IT spend and cost with a forecasting approach to provide decision-relevant facts as early as possible
  • Enrich reporting and controlling to cover efficiency and effectiveness measures (IT Balanced Scorecard)
  • Continuously improve IT Reporting and Controlling processes to focus on analysis and providing valuable information to the key stakeholders, including the Group COO, Group CIO, the ITCo, the ITC, and global and OE IT executives and their IT controllers
  • Develop and run the global IT reporting and controlling community
  • Collaborate closely across Group COO functions (H4) and with Group CFO function (H2)

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

Qualifications

  • University Master Degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Science with excellent achievement
  • Additional qualification, such as MBA, PhD is a plus
  • International experience outside home-country of at least 2 years
  • Proven experience working with both on executive level (board of management) as well as controller / finance communities
  • Experience with building strategic IT controlling functions
  • Deep experience across multiple business field, e.g. business cases, (IT) performance measurement, sourcing
  • Solid craft skills in finance processes, procures, accounting, controlling instruments, planning cycles
  • Solid craft skills in IT terminology and IT services, products, projects, investment procedures, IT business case components
  • Solid craft skills in writing prose, presentations, communications in a recipient oriented approach
  • Solid craft skills in consulting problem solving approaches and methods
  • Solid craft skills in Project management, change management, managing large groups, working in virtual teams
  • Hands-on experience in using and implementing financial applications
  • Advanced hands-on skills in using end-user productivity tools (Microsoft Office, esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced hands-on skills in SAP, SAP BW, SAP ECCS, SAS VA, SAS FM
  • Advanced and modern visualization skills
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, additional language to mother tongue a plus
  • Optional: Accounting, Audit certificate , Project Management Certification (PRINCE2, PMI)

Experience & Key skills

  • Experienced IT controlling professional with a minimum of six years of experience, specifically in IT performance management, IT controlling, functional controlling (other functions than IT)
  • Experience in large multinational corporations working in a multi-cultural environment and understanding their decision processes
  • Experience in the finance function of technology start-ups an IT Service provider
  • Good insurance industry experience
  • Excellent analytics and synthesis with strategic orientation
  • High results orientation
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to distil complex topics into clear decision options without sacrificing financial accuracy
  • Excellent influencing skills: ability to gain and maintain credibility across all hierarchy levels and both technical, finance, and business
  • Rapid learner and abreast of controlling trends, including the impact of business intelligence technologies to the controller function
